Great Conjunction: Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius

Set a large goal and commit yourself fully!

The Great Conjunction! Jupiter and Saturn appear closer together in the sky than they have for the last 400 years. If you want to see them, wait until just after sunset, then look in the sky just above where the Sun went below the horizon. It will look like two, bright, steadily shining “stars”, one brighter than the other. They won’t appear this close again for another 60 years, though they will form another conjunction in 2040.

What does this mean for us? Both Jupiter and Saturn swept into Aquarius just a couple of days ago, and this joining of their forces heralds a change for something new in the way things work.

Be prepared for change. Be open to inventive and unique solutions for progressing in your career and working efforts. This conjunction is a force rewarding a combination of effort and independent thought. Different is just fine.

Our social norms are going to be influenced as well. Equality and the right for people to live their lives as they choose will continue to be at the forefront of our social consciousness, though now there will be a more helpful influence on making those changes.

This is a big time of change and adjustment to a more open and independent way of making a positive difference in your life. Take advantage of it! Set a large goal and commit yourself fully!

What Does a Solar Eclipse Mean?

Solar Eclipse

Given we have a solar eclipse today, Dec.14, 2020, let’s talk about what a solar eclipse means in an astrological sense.

In the future we will present an eclipse from an astronomical standpoint as it’s very interesting to know what’s happening in our sky — and it helps explain how other, astrological things like the North and South lunar nodes work.

But for now, let’s talk about what it means for us.

A solar eclipse always happens when there’s a new moon. New moons are dark and are the beginning and end of a lunar cycle — the journey of the moon through it’s phases. From new moon, growing to a bright full moon, then shrinking back to a dark new moon again.

New moons represent both beginnings and endings, and are times when we should look at our past and make decisions about what we want to do and how we want to handle things in the future. What sign the new moon is in tells a lot about where this new-beginning, intention-setting energy is best focused.

A solar eclipse is a special kind of new moon. It’s a near-perfect alignment with the Sun that boosts the normal energy of that Moon & Sun combination way up!

When there’s a solar eclipse you have the sense that both what has gone before and what you wish to do next is amplified to really feel the energy of coming change. And that’s what it’s mainly about:  change. It’s like a coiled spring. There’s energy there and it’s going to be released. You are best to use and guide this energy in a positive way in your life lest it otherwise surprise you in potentially unexpected or undesirable ways.

Be open to new ideas during this time. It is a time of change and adjustment, and there may be new ideas put in front of you that you never considered before. Don’t limit yourself. Learn from your past and set a course with intention for your future.

While there’s a lot of energy with a solar eclipse, it’s going to be released over time. Maybe a long period of time or maybe a short period of time, but either way the starting gun for this race hasn’t fired yet. This is a beginning. Make decisions and prepare yourself but let the week of the eclipse pass by before you begin acting on some of the decisions you’re making. Use the time to consider all possibilities and explore all potentials. Figure out what you want to do, set your intentions, establish your goals, and make your plans.

Be ready to become who and what you want to be.

Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

Set your intentions for the life you want to live.

This is a very special time. It’s a time to set your path forward. To chart your course to become who you wish to be and to achieve what you desire. You get to decide what you grow to become. It is a time for clarifying your goals and dreams, setting your intentions, making your plans, and committing to make them happen.

There are a number of factors at work here, the most significant of which is the total solar eclipse happening on Dec. 14th. While the eclipse may only be visible far in the Southern hemisphere, its influence affects everyone.

When you look back on your life you can often see times where things changed. Where deciding to do one thing or another, or going one place or another, had a profound impact. Imagine what could have happened had you known the importance of those decisions? Would you have spent more time ensuring you were making the right choice for what you wanted out of your life?

This is one of those times.

Right now.

Today, and until the end of the week, take some time to think about where you want to be in your life. Look at what you’ve done in the past. Think about where you’ve been. Consider what you’ve accomplished.

Then, feel what sense of achievement you have. What you’re happy about. What brought you joy and what you’re thankful for. Also think about what you still want to accomplish. Think about where you wish to go and what you want to become. What fulfilling and amazing experiences and achievements are out there, waiting for you to tackle them? What kind of person are you going to be?

Is there a new skill you would feel pretty awesome about having? Would you feel fulfilled if you could help others in a particular way? Is there a relationship you desire to form or improve? Would you feel more confident or excited at achieving a particular career goal?

These are not easy questions! It’s normal to shy away from tackling them because they’re so… big. But there’s a lot of possibility out there. Now’s the time to let the universe know what you’re looking for.

Get clear with your desires. Set your intentions. Formulate a plan to make things happen. Commit to making it real.

Big changes come in life whether you’re ready for them or not. This week is a time to set the guideposts for your journey. You’re not making the big changes yet. Change is only just beginning. But create your own beautiful path to walk. It’s your life and this time is a gift to set it to be what you want it to be.

Venus in Scorpio Opposite Uranus Retrograde in Taurus

Make new values and ideals a part of your life.

“Be open to new ideas of what you want your life to be like and embrace them. Questioning our values occasionally is healthy and helps us grow and develop.

You may feel an urge to branch out on your own, following your own path to success. What success means to you is something to think about now, along with your ideas of security and stability.

Changing things around your house to better align with how you want to live is important too. Even if it’s quite different from what you always thought you wanted before. Try not to be too upset if others you live with don’t share your enthusiasm. Change can be difficult. Have a sincere talk with them about what it means to you, and be okay with compromising — at least a little.”

Stay on-track. Don't get distracted from making progress.

“When you’re moving intently towards your goals keep the blinders on. This is not the time to be distracted. Focus on doing what you’re doing.

Don’t make changes right now if you don’t have to. Don’t re-think how to do things better. Use your energy to make progress as you have been. There are other times to figure out better ways and more efficient approaches. Right now, go on auto-pilot and use your energy as best you can without changing course.

Record new ideas you have so they’re not lost, but then shelve them for a couple days. If people want to talk about their new ideas defer them if you can. If you need to talk to people about changes, do so with patience and tolerance… and take the earliest opportunity to defer deep discussions.”

Venus Enters Scorpio (from Libra)

Be ready for surging emotions just beneath the surface.

“You will have a tendency to fall in love with something intensely. You’ll see a piece of art that really speaks to you and you must have it! Or you’ll see a new home decor idea that will just be perfect for your place. Similarly, you may see someone who ticks all the boxes and go head over heels for a bit. This could be a romance or perhaps a new or rekindled, close friendship.

Your feelings tend to be amplified right now. They are also quite changeable. If you’re happy, you’re really happy and if you’re sad… well, you’re more likely to feel angry at whatever or whoever did something that might normally make you feel sad.

There will be a lot of ups and downs but most of this turmoil will go unseen. Unless things are really serious, you’ll be able to keep your composure.”

Mercury in Scorpio Trine Neptune in Retrograde in Pisces

Set a plan fro accomplishing the goals you most desire to achieve.

“You can see which of your dreams and goals will really bring you what you desire. Not every goal is worth following through on. You only have so many hours in a day and only so much energy to apply towards accomplishing things. You have to make choices about what goals are just generally good for you versus ones that lead to something you really want to have in your life.

Trying to do too much leads to frustration, dispersed efforts, and little to no benefits as a result. This is the time to align your dreams and goals with your desires, and set up a plan to accomplish the ones that mean the most to you.”

Horoscope: Pull the weeds from your life's garden so you have room to grow.

“You know the people in your life that lift you up. The ones that make you become a better version of yourself and make positive changes. You also know the ones who don’t. Where you can, make changes to keep only those who are positive influences in your life and cut the others.

This can be hard as you are likely cutting ties that you’re used to — even if they’re not good for you. Be brave enough to choose the people and things that really make you better over those that just make you feel better. Pull the weeds from your life’s garden so you can get the sunshine, air, water, and space you need to grow.”

Discover ways to make your relationships work better for everyone.

“If you’re in a romantic relationship, take a good look at where things are working and where they’re not. Is there commitment from both people? Will it last? It’s a good time to figure out if you need to invest further, possibly with some adjustments to make things better emotionally, or if it’s time to make larger changes.

For close friends, look at how you interact and what you both do. Are those things bringing you closer together? If not, spend some time talking about ideas that could bring more fun, help, and closeness to your friendship.

In your household, look at the house rules and how they’re affecting the way everyone feels about their home and each other. Are the rules bringing everyone a sense of comfort, safety, and a loving environment? Rules and systems are rarely picked as the reason for a happy home, but they contribute more than most family members realize. Take a look at yours and see how they’re affecting the family’s emotional relationships. Too strict and people don’t feel loved and valued. Too loose and they don’t learn how to interact well with others or self-regulate. What changes do you see as being helpful for your family?”
